just traded my wolverine 350 4x4 for a 2000 400 ex it seems to be in good shape and all stock. the previous owner said it was modded with a 440 kit, hot cam and new chain etc... it looks like its never been apart to me, are there any telltales to look for?the stock exhaust has been gutted and it shows no signs of running lean.i have ordered a dg slip on and will rejet then.are there any weak points i should be aware of with this machine?

One thing to look at are the heads of the bolts and nuts holding the various motor parts together. If there are no grip marks on any of them it's doubtful the motor's been apart.

Why a DG?

Not to be a prick, but they suck.

They're cheap for a reason. DG stands for Dollar General of atv parts.

There are plenty of used pipes out there just as cheap.

LOL, I don't think it's going to make a big difference what pipe he has. If he's happy then who cares what he has.....

Mike, have you ever rode other sport machines? What does the power of your ex feel like?
