ok guys i need some help...i have an 05' 450r and it is a stock motor besides an HRC cam...the intake is set at .06 and the exhaust is at .011..and i can slide a .010 in between the decompression...it seems a little hard to kick. so can someone tell me if im even checking the decompression gap right? and does anyone have an HRC manual for an 05' they can look in and give me the right specs because ive heard so many different numbers..thanks.

The manual say to set your decompressor at .0017.Try this that will help.

This is how I set mines.

I know !!! the manual say to take your right side exhaust valve clearance and add 0.006 then you have the clearance that your decompressor will need.

Your exhaust valve clearance is at 0.011 + 0.006 = 0.017

I have adjusted all the 450R that I made valve adjustement like this and they start easily.

i also read where u have to have the .011 feeler under ur right exhaust and then use a .006 in the decompression? anyone know for sure?

the manual say TO ADD 0.006 to your right side exhaust valve to get the measure that you will adjust the decompressor.

Then : You have 0.011 on the valve + the 0.006 the manual say egal 0.017 that you adjust the decompressor.

Sorry if you don't understand,I don't talk english everyday and this is the only way I can explain it.

that .006 is coming from the HRC manual? i think im going to just put the .011 under the right exhaust and then the .006 under the decompression..sound right?

IN: 0.006 +/- 0.001
EX: 0.011 +/- 0.001
DECOMP: 0.010 +/- 0.001

These numbers are direct out of an 05 HRC Kit Manual. Nowhere in my HRC manual does it say to add any number together, but manuals are retarded. keep adjusting it in small increments to larger sizes untill it starts and starts easily. A guy the other day didnt get any luck untill his decomp was at .022, so just keep adjusting.
