edelbrocks are decent. but your best bet is just to get the FCR with a bore.

yea those FCRs are the best you can get. Especially after you bore them. All i haear about people with edelbrocks is how much they suck and they are over priced. I would just leave edelbrock for the musclecars.

Theres also Lectron, I don't know anything about them though.
Most people use CRF carbs.

What year is ur 450r? 06+'s already have decent FCRs.

its my riding buddies and its an '04 that has been bored and a couple of other things. He is still running the stock carb and he wants to upgrade. FCR or Lectrons, which one do you guys think he should go with. he trail rides his 450 and we drag every now and then. thanks!!!!

I'd recommend an 07 or 08 CRF450R FCR dirtbike carb.
IMO it's the most popular carb people upgrade to around here.
And if u want to go all out get it taper bored.

I just strapped one onto my 05.

if i was him. i would buy a fcr dirtbike carb and get it bored. but thats not cheap for em carbs, and to get it bored is 250... lectron makes a decent carb, and if he ever has an idea of dragging full time. lectron does will with alcohol vehicles, and they specialize in alcohol carbs...

Chad at DRG already has them. They are approx. $800 shipped with all the flow charts and so forth to prove power gains.

I highly recommend the edelbrocks.. have been using them for 8 or 9 years now on my 400 ex, 440ex, 465ex,450r, 520r,
