I just got two things done on my esr310... an upper mid to top end port and polish job by Neil C-Leigh and a +3 swing arm from E-Bay. Now i am seeing a lot more wheel spin ... i thinks its mostly the swing arm but i'm not sure. i have stock 450r tires with almost new knobbies on ITP's, 13 tooth front and i think 39 in the back. Next time out I will run my 14 tooth front to see if it does any better. What can i do to get better traction on dirt? Oh yeah the back bucks real hard if i hit bumps at high speed so i'll get getting a new rear shock soon!

get a good rear shock and a stock length swing arm

longer swingarms give you less traction on dirt and will buck the rear end on jumps regardless of shock, like a tt swingarm that are shorter than stock hook up ''hole shot and out of corners'' i would stick to the stock length swing and a good shock, axis, pep, alka.

get a laeger cr500 link swinger in a stock 88 length, and get a PEP ZPS shock, and it will be the nicest rear end you will ever ride, and get some razr mx tires in the back as well

Are you able to use the CR500 link on the stock frame? i thought it had to be made for it specifically, just like the shock needs to be designed for it as well?

Try you a 15/36 gear & see what that does.
When you drag race with a longer swingarm, you have to depend on gross wheel speed to pull you through.
With a longer swingarm, you move the wheels out from under the weight that would have caused them to bite the dirt. In a sence, where the wheels are sitting now, its like the bike is lighter so you get less traction.
The old Othsu radial rear tire, like came on the 250Rs is the best drag tire you can get for dirt drag.
