Well the time has come to have a new sticker batch made up for the site. It can't be too fancy or the costs will be way too high. So mainly you should use different fonts, colors, backgrounds in your entries. The winner will get a free EXriders t-shirt and a couple free stickers :) The deadline is Sunday at midnight. I will pick the winner. Please make sure you can tell me exactly what colors (hex numbers please) you used, font names, sizes, etc. It would be best if you can get me a Photoshop file to work with if you are the winner. Good luck! Remember, nothing too fancy! :)

I am also interested in what price you guys think would be fair to sell these decals at per decal. :)

Thanks,

Ben

I think Str8wickeds desigh would make a sweet sticker.

I'd say $2-3 for a sticker, I'm sure people will understand if you overprice them, becuase its helping the site.

I also personally like, the stickers that don't have the boarder?..ermm.. Like the first generation of Exriders stickers, (i liked that), The second gen. had the clear boarded which I didn't care for, but either way is cool.

Also for a sticker this cool you could charge more....

That is an awesome looking sticker...count me in on one of those.

Ben
11-15-2002, 12:47 PM
Now remember guys - if we have a white background just think about how a white square might look on a quad.... Not sure - you guys decide, just something to think about :)

I think clear vinyl ones would look pretty nice. I think $1 for a sticker would be reasonable...just tell them to send $1 and a SAS envelope to you. And like buy 5 get 1 free. That sounds fair..

I think that Nakomis's sticker would look awsome....

I think that it should be clear background instead of white and have a different saying at the bottom....

Ben
11-15-2002, 01:49 PM
They cost me $2.00 a piece not counting the $200 setup charge. :)

Ben

Ouch!

I wonder if 3$ would cover it

Doibugu2
11-15-2002, 02:04 PM
If he sold them for $2.00 a piece, he would never recover the $200 setup fee. Thats assuming the business never gives him a price break. But if he sold them at $2.50, we could recover his money after he sold 400 stickers. Which may be tough to do. Leo might have to advise Benny on that one.

But I still like that first pic, just no background at all. Just letters. Let the color of your quad be the background. Just think of that on a black quad. Sweet!

11-15-2002, 02:15 PM
I like the first on the most maybe we could get a couple of diferent color schemes going on clear vynal. Also id pay like 3 max 250 i think is the fairest. Plus if recovering the 200 dollar fee is a problem to you guys think about it if you sell it though the store you just have them make up more than enought to cover your 200 fee maybe even go a little bit more that way you can make some money. Then just start selling them because we will always buy them lol i dont think you can have ehough exriders stickers

MX26

I'd say clear background or die cut letters. The only thing with die cuts are that they come off very easily. I usually get a peice of clear vynil and stick over them. Either way, sign me up for a few.

yeah i think nakomi's and guy's are the top 2 best. i would buy both personally. you should set up a donation box to help pay for the site funds :). i know www.duncecapjokes.com does that stuff. only if u give money they sign you up for a newsletter subscription or something from their site. but with paypal or just sending money to you for the site wouldn't be that bad of an idea to get some pocket change. just givin ya ideas :)

The funny lil sayings are kewl and all, but I wouldnt put it on my Quad.
Neither would I put a White backgrounded sticker.
Im liking wicked's design with a clear back ground (die-cut would be $$$$ and peel easily like MX26 said)

I would but I dont seen been makin the stickers with that sayin on it...plus you are gonna run into the problem with the whole sticker in general...its going to have to be a white box so the sticker actually stays on the quad instead of being alot of little seperate pieces (like the old exriders stickers) because those will wear off real quick.

See what Im sayin? :)

Ya know...I just thought bout this...what if the sticker were printed on clear vinyl...or whatever the stickers are made of...then the sticker would be durable and would not be a big white "block".

nakomis0
11-15-2002, 09:56 PM
Yes thats Str8wickeds design, 100%.

I think that sticker would look sweet with or without a saying under the exriders.com logo.

As far as background, It would look the best IMO if it had NO background, like the first gen. Exriders stickers. Don't know if you can get those with colors though.

A clear background would be my second choice.

that'd go PERFECT on my R (oem red plasic and Feathercarbon hood and tank cover).
no background would seem to make a sticker that would like to peel off easily with the lil edges on the decal

Thoes are only like 3.00 so if they can do it WE can!!!!. If you dont understand what Im saying Im sorry. Im really tierd.

I like the kind of stickers that are just the letters. Like you take the cover off of them, stick it on the plastic with the letters, rub it on, then peel the backing off....those are really nice looking. The clear background ones wont work too well on dark colors, or blue. Like on my black, for example, it will be really hard to make it not visible....

aka die-cut alky

nakomis0
11-16-2002, 02:14 AM
ya Die cut, I like them best too.

But you can always trim your stickers with a razor. Even if it was a clear background just take your time and make it like you would want it.

Guy400
11-16-2002, 05:41 AM
The problem with die-cut stickers is they don't seem to last very long. I know my Lonestar die-cut was missing letters after about a week.

Ben
11-16-2002, 05:49 AM
Yep, all the decal companies say Die Cut isn't good for longevity. That design by Str8wicked is awesome but I wonder if it can be done for cheap - it isn't exactly a basic design :) I'll look into it monday. I am still seeking advice from you guys on a background. I don't have stickers on my quads so I don't know what looks good. A white square background wouldn't look good imho. I think an oval background would look equally bad. Maybe a circular design/logo? I am open to any ideas, so please let me know what decal designs and layouts look good on your quads and last a long time :)

i say stick with the last sticker design as well as a new one i like the old ones better than some of these (imo) and lets try to keep the cost down 2$ a sticker is a rip off

MX26
11-16-2002, 10:53 AM
Once again, die cut stickers are ALOT cheaper than regular "box" style stickers. Ben you could make alot more stickers for the same amount of money and let everyone buy more, for cheaper. See what I'm saying?

In my opinion, die cut looks better than any sticker out there. I used to have some red Sandbros.com stickers on my Quad Tech hood and they looked EXCELLENT. I also agree with Alky. The clear background does show up, but like someone else said, you can cut them.

If it was me, I'd make up a batch of those ones that Stryker did that say Let's Ride!!! but drop the exclamation marks. Like I said before, if people want, they can go to their local Walmart and get some clear plastic to stick over the die cut stickers. That works better than anything, and it also helps keep your plastic scratch free.

Ben

TravEX
11-16-2002, 01:36 PM
yes,,, i think that will look a lot better,,,

Striker49
11-16-2002, 01:44 PM
What about just a solid designs...maybe all red or yellow...well, white would be even better, like the old stickers. White shows up good on pretty much anything.

Die cut or a solid clear background really doesnt matter to me...but I would want something durable. The old style exriders sticker that i have on the 250 are still on there but some parts of the stickers are missing...the .com is gone on one of em, another is ripped up the middle. But until I actually get a new quad I wont need any except for the truck window. I personally prefer durability, but whatever is best for everyone else is good too. :p

This is what Im talkin bout color wise...

EricB
11-16-2002, 02:08 PM
maybe for the slogan at the bottom "ride hard, ride red" not really offensive to anyone. and it won't look like we're trying to say the EX's are the best bikes. because they're not. but they are damn good bikes for what they do! hehe no flames please, i meen honestly i don't wanna goto the dunes with a sticker that says my bike is better than a sand drag banshee. because it's not, in its element. but i know i could smoke em on the trails ANY DAY! hehe. plus we still have something in there for honda pride, and you know red riders ride 10 times harder than anyone else anyhow....=P

Edit: and i think Striker's color scheme is probably the best i've seen, my vote goes for it with the slogan i wrote unless someone comes up with something cooler.

Here's Honda performance, Lonestar, Vito's, and even an Exriders (over the headlight) all in die cut.

I think maybe they are a little less durable, but with proper prep, and care I think they can be just as durable.

LOL Sorry gotta be quick;) No ofense to the folks making new sticker styles, but the current sticker really looks good. I havent seen an entry yet that I would buy or put on my quad. QuadMX,
Guy said that because 400's have round tube frames and 300's have square tube frames.
