does it make a difference what one you get on a smaller bike like a 250ex?

The 250EX and 300EX will see more benefit than the 400EX.

you def should get a full exhuast, you make all your power in the header and if you get a bigger header then you get more power. Pipes are just for sound and usually do jack *****

Once you have some engine mods... Higher compression, air filter, cam, etc., you may find a "huge" improvement with the slip-on... I did!:) (Both 300ex and 400ex)

If the engine is stock, and you plan on keeping it stock... Going for a "full" system seems like a waste of money... Stay quiet with your stock exhaust... And go with some suspension upgrades... My 2 cents.

Good luck!

I have two 400Ex's... well one's a 440 now, but when they were stock they both had pipes. One had the white brothers R4 complete system and the other had an fmf slip-on.

The one with the slip-on was much stronger than the one with the full exhaust system. Don't know why. If I had to guess, I would say that the engine lost tq with the larger diameter head pipe.

Ya if your going to using your 250ex for MX get a full system:blah

Slip-ons work just as good as a full system on a stock or slightly modded bike. If your going to modded it more than that you should get a full system.
