sorry i just wanted to ask how hard are these to ride in the woods i hear over and over that these are more for mx but i love the way they look and keep hearing about the power but i dont want to get something that i have to alway fly on and possibly wreck into trees and what not lol i fine with riding fast but there are times in tight trails that you jsut cant

I mostly ride my 450r in the woods and it works great and non of my friends with 400ex can even keep close with me in the woods or anywhere else and if u want to go slower just gear down put 12 tooth in the front and the biggest gear u can find for the rear

well my buddy has an 07 450er with different sprockets and hates it for when hes going slower.... and we ride muddier areas so he has mud tires on it too but im sure for normal trails it is great but i am not sure.

a friend of mine has a 450r, stock gearing, and 18s on the rear and he did very well in the woods. Kept up with everyone and got through the muddy spots fairly well. So I'd say it can be done, and the gearing down can help alot.

well ive ridden woods and trails and beach since ive owned the bike and never had a problem on any. I cant really trail ride anymore due to it being too wide for a lot of trails since i put a-arms and axle but hey.....its your choice man. if you leave it stock and take out the stock spark arrestor you can putt at 2 mph if you want. too many fail to understand that if you take out the spark arrestor on stock exhaust you dont need to keep RPMs up to keep from stalling. its a fun bike and i loved it for trails.

lol....there was more mud on the indoor mx track today than half the trails ive ever ridden. if you wont never take it into the mud then where do you ride? not being a smarta** im just curious. Do you do drag only or something? I mean, yeah they are nice quads but i took my 03 caddy cts into a mud pit one day.

in croom you can easily avoid mud its almost all soft sand

I XC race my 450r that's built and I have a Z400 thats all stock which I use when the 450 is down and in the woods I can still hang with the 450's with the Z400. In the straights they kill me though.
