Wondering if anyone here has tried heavier flywheels to improve the trail manners and low rpm manners of the yfz?

I'd like to get a bit more smoothness at low rpm and maybe a bit longer of a pull.

I see that trail tech is selling some....anywhere else?

I've run a weight since 04, it doesn't hurt any place, but helps the low end.

i had a heavier flywheel on my other yfz and it did smooth it out at low end... if your not much for racing then it would be a good choice.

I have a 06 with 13.1 gytr piston in it and I used the trail tech
+8 on it and realy like it, I think I'm going to run one on my new one also with stock motor there not near as jumpy in the tighter stuff.

Anyone used them on the '04-05 and do a mix of trails and MX? I wouldn't mind smoothing out the power on my '05 and I do some MX racing while majority of it is recreational/trails. Was thinking about switching over to an '06 head for the better intake port.

Got one on my 05 it helps some. I would recommend a +12oz I think you be able to tell more of a difference with it.

idk if i'm right or not but we used to run fly wheel weights on our 2 stroke dirt bike and a lighter fly wheel weight will help out on low end some but your motor will still have the zing and a heavier fly wheel weight will make the motor turn slower so that would be more torque we ran 6oz weights on cr 250's but 12oz would be right on a 450 but i'd rather rear gear it then install a fly wheel weight really
depends if you've already regeared or now

i had a 12 oz on my 07 that was used for woods and xc riding and liked it a lot. a lot less clutching and less stalling. i'm thinking about putting it on my 08 mx bike to smooth out the low end.i know its not meant for mx but this will be my first year on a track and feel it may help me out through the tight corners. it doesnt lose any top end thats for sure.
