I have a 98 foreman 450. I bought a new battery because it kept on going dead. But i ran it with the new battery in it and it ran until the batter went dead. Now it wont even start and after turning over it backfires. so idk whats wrong with it. Thanks

Yeah. Most likely a bad alternator or voltage regulator.

It might just be flooded to crap?

it wouldnt be flooded john, i would check your voltage coming into your spark plug, see if it is pre-mature ignition.

This is pretty common on most electronic ignition systems. I see this all the time with Harleys......You are not charging your battery system. As the voltage drops, the spark gets continuosly weaker until the machine runs like crap or dies completely.....Get out your manual and test the regulator/rectifier and alternator. There is also a 30 amp fuse in the curcuit as well. You have already replaced the battery so you know that's not the problem..That leaves the fuse, regulator and alternator...The manual is very clear and testing is pretty basic.
