Swinger Project: need micrometer help with carrier

A good friend of mine is making a honda style swinger for his souped up polaris and he needs to know the diameter of the cam on the rear carrier....such as 4.250 inches, or whatever. Cross-cutting the tube steel is the easy part, but he needs to know the carrier specs in order to create the pinch bolt diameter. I don't have the proper tool and don't want to get a hack measurement with a tape measure.

if you cant find anyone take it to a dealership and ask if they can measure it. They SHOULD have the tool for boring / piston measurement. Or find a solid company that makes the bearing carrier itself and ask them for measurements.

Just a little tip,
When welding on the round tube housing that the axle carrier will go in, make you a jig of some kind that will go inside that tube to make it hold its shape, because welding on the thin tube wall will cause the tube to deform & then the carrier wont fit in.
Just a little headake saver.
