I am running stock gears in my 2000 400ex
i have following mods
k+n filter
stage 2 jetting
air box lid removed w/k+n filter gaurd on
Pro Circuit T4 exhaust

i feel my first 3 gears are kinda short on my bike and im looking for a bit more top speed.I Feel i have enought power now to lengthen gears but which sprocket should i change and why?

BTW:Im looking to make this into a responsive top end oreiented reliable 4-stroke.I plan on adding a cam rockers/valve job/polishing....etc

Changeing the front sprocket will make the biggest difference out of the two. Because going up 1 tooth up front ='s going down 2 in the rear. Going up in the front = more top end. The rear is the opisite.

Go for the clearance, the back sproket just cost a crap load more than the front!

There is a guy selling brand new 36 tooth rear sprockets on Ebay for $14.50, with shipping it was like$21.00. Not that expensive.
