Hi Guys,

My Hiper Tech 3s will be here next Wed. For those who have them what lug nuts did you use? The Hiper dealer told me to turn my stock lugnuts around and use the flat side against the wheels. Is this OK?

I was thinking of something nicer and hoping you guys know of something better (looking) than stock.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Ive always used the stock lugs with the cone facing in like normal rims. Never had a problem in 4 years. I think they lock in place better that way. The only other thing i can suggest is that ITP i think makes chrome lug nuts that are flat for aftermarket rims. Or at least someone does if its not ITP.

These are what I use with my Tech 3 HiPers. They are ITP Flat Lug nuts. They are $1.24 a piece and are 10mm x 1.25 pitch with 14mm head.

I have a BRAND NEW set of 16 still in the original box that I would sell you. PM if your interested.

Where did you buy your Hipers? How much did they set you back?

His name starts with an "M" :-)

Great guy and since we are both in the aftermarket performance business (him Trucks/ATVs, me Sports Cars) he took really good care of me!

Hang on to the lug nuts for a few days if you can. I am still trying to make up my mind what to use. It will be easier to decide when I have the wheels in hand. I want to do black anodized lug nuts, but I haven't found any. I may just get yours and talk my wife into Power Coating them stealth black for me (she does all of our PC work)

BTW, I just got my tracking number a few minutes ago and they are scheduled for Wed delivery... it sucks that my iRazrs won't be here until Friday!!! Oh well, I guess I have to just look at the wheels only for a couple of days.

Thanks for the great offer on the lug nuts, but I will understand if you want to sell them immediately and not wait

I will hold the lug nuts for you. I bet your Wife could cut you a good deal on the powder coating ;)

Did you take my advice and buy the HiPers from the same seller I got them from?

I had already spoke with Matt a couple of months ago, but your feedback and others here made me feel even more comfortable doing business with him. I also spoke with Hiper directly and they too spoke very highly of him. After that and the deal he offered me it was a no brainer!!

It doesn't take too much to talk her into PC, she loves doing it. Here is a pic of one of her earlier 2 color PC projects (Chrome silver w/red letters) when she was just learning.

I'm sure she can do a nice job on lug nuts if you decide to go that route.

Be certain you have a 3/8" 12 point socket and an inch pound torque wrench for the HiPer install.

Got that covered, plus I have read there instructions a few times on-line. Those things look to be a a piece of cake compared to some of the 3-piece racing wheels I have done. I wish those things had o-rings like the Hipers!!!

Thanks for all the tips and reminders, I am sure in my excitement I will forget something.

They are easy to install but, it's just time consuming with all the bolts. They are easy to over-torque so that's why I wanted to remind you about the torque wrench.

Also, double check the ring bolts after a ride or two to ensure they aren't loose. Most all of mine were the first time I checked them.

Did you get dual beadlock rears and single fronts? What color rings? Red or Black? I'm guessing black.

Take a look at what I found. Moose Racing Black Lug Nuts that would go perfectly with your HiPers. I think this might be a Valentine Gift from the Wife. $65.00 for a set of 16. Here's a link.
