What is Hotstart?

Just wanting to know if someone can give me a descent explanation of the term hotstart? The lever that is mounted with the clutch.

the hotstart is used when the quad or bike you have is hot and your trying to start it. it runs down to the carb and when you hold it in, it leans out the fuel / air mixture for an easier start

Thank you for the description. I've been wondering for a while was this thing was. I was looking at clutch levers a while ago and I found those with hotstart. Never coudl figure what they were. I appreciate it!
