Anybody going to Carolina Adventure World this weekend? Thinking of heading out there but hate to ride solo.

Did you go to CAW? How was it? I have been thinking about checking it out in the very near future.

I have been there several times but my riding buddies live about 2 hours away and I'm only 20 minutes away. They were not able to comes down so I went anyway with my 5 year old on his Eton 70. Needless to say it was muddy in some of the trails and his small quad got stuck in the deep ruts many times. After pulling him out several times we decided to ride the service roads which are great for kid quads and Side by side vehicles, but didn't allow me the opportunity to open up my new Renegade in the trails like I wanted. I was hoping to ride with some adults but I had a good father son day riding nonetheless.

If you haven't been it is definately worth travelling to ride there. they have recently added a new dirt oval for ATV's that is worthy of a Nationally Sanctioned event. There is plenty to do regardless of what you ride and I can say that you will not be disappointed. Trails galore and well marked, water crossings, mud bog, rock crawl, etc. Pack up the gear one day and come on down and shoot me a PM if you do and I will meet you all there.

Me and 5 friends went this past weekend and we had a blast. It was muddy as hell but we had fun anyway. We'll definatly be going back. Great trails, great mx track and circle track.

Its a little over an hour for me. I live in Laurens. Is there any where to ride in or around greenville?

I'm not too sure if there's anywhere around Greenville. I know there's a horse pasture around the Lake Jocasse area they say is a real nice ride looking over the lake and sometimes right down to it. Just gotta watch out for the DNR cops because they're heavy in that area. Not exactly Greenville but I think that's about as good as it gets around here.

We usually ride at the Enoree OHV trail but they don't open back up until March 28. Here is a link with more trails in SC.

How did you like Enoree OHV? I haven't seen any reviews about it. Although I have an annual membership to CAW I like travelling to different places to ride. Is it kid atv friendly? How well are the trails groomed? Lastly how well are the trails marked?

Thanks

I really like the trails. I've been taking my son since he was 5yrs old riding a sportrax 90. Now he's 10 and rides a 250EX. The trails are groomed very well and are closed down when it rains. I've never gotten stuck on a rutt on the trails. Trails are marked well also. Great parking area, loading/unloading dock, rest rooms and it only cost $5 to ride.

Sounds good. Have you been on the Manchester OHV trails or the ones down in Edgefield SC?

The only other trails I've been to are Cedar Springs and Parson's Mountain in Abbeville. Both were fun trails but had a lot of rutts.

I've also been to Gulches in Laurens but they don't have very many atv trails. They have a lot of hills to climb and mud to play in if your into that sort of thing.

MX track is nice also. There are two large MX tracks and also a enduro track, and junior moto. I think they may have some pictures posted on the website. www.CarolinaAdventureworld.com

Being originally from Shelby myself it is worth the drive from Gastonia. TNT in Chester has some nice MX tracks also for dirtbikes but is limited as far as trails go, but CAW has much more to offer. I don't know how long TNT will last once CAW gets all of its facilities up and running. They are only about 10 miles apart.

The rules are a little different on the back of the map they give you after you pay. It says minimum requirement for mx track is Helmet and Chest Protector. The only gear I had on when I rode was Helmet, Chest protector and gloves.;)

I got back late Monday night from CAW, was there from Friday until Monday morning. It was a little muddy after the storms rolled through on Saturday, but still had a blast. I was impressed with the park, especially for only being open for about a year. Can't wait to see it in the future when they have more stuff done.
