when is it backfireing? Deceletation, acceleration......The problem is most likely jetting

Backfire on decel usually means lean jetting. could also be an exhaust leak.

Do a plug check if its white or very light colored your probably running lean and need to bump up the jetting.

If you do a search you'll find lots of good starting points for the jetting and im sure you'll find someone w/ similar mods
