offer 900 cash and work from there. you'll spend a minimum of 300 bucks getting it in good shape.

thats what I was thinking. when the axle is bent, does it mess up all the bearings/seals/gears/etc in the rear end?
Ryan- care to touch on my question in the FAQ? ...

I replied to your question.

I would imagine the seals/bearings *may* have undergone some extra stress since the axle bent.

I bought 4 or 5 different seals when I did my axle swap, but I only ended up replacing 1 or 2. (the rest didn't seem like they wanted to come out) I havent had any issues with fluid leaking, or free play.

I still have some of the seals left over, i can sell them to you for a few bucks + shipping.

axle is around 400 bucks and yeah id say try to lower the seller because hes probably not going to sell it for 1200 any time soon anyway

yeah, my axle replacement wasnt that much.
axle=104.00
axle bearing/seal kit=40.00
Clymers service manual=30.00
&
about 2 hrs worth of work.

when I finished I was like - 'this is it?' ...
too easy!
too easy!

but anyway-
I ended up paying 750.00 and she even threw in an Oxlite Aluminum Bi-Fold ramp. so I snatched it up.

see my thread: "2003 250EX makeover"

I've got my eye on a '04 250ex that has another bent axle.
it needs a right rear hub too. what causes these things to bend like this? it seems to be a fairly common thing with the 250ex?...
is from jumping too high/hard? or what?

maybe I can get this one a little cheaper...

I told you it was simple!

Jumps, and crashes are what bend the axles. Durablue makes a aftermarket axle, they go for about 300 dollars...or the price of 2 OEM axle swaps :D
