i bought mine used with a 16, and i switched to a 15, and it seemed a lot slower, but i really didn't notice a lot of change in the power, maybe a little more bottom. it's only supposed to change the speed 4mph for each front tooth. that's what i was told.

i'm 280 pounds and i have a 16 on mine.i love it .i was told to stick with the 15 becuase im not 150 pounds .glad i didnt. i didnt see a loss in bottom end.in fact i think it makes more use of the torque. it doesnt just swing by the torque curve so fast. its also more fun to ride. and yes its faster top end.

acually wit a 16t and a lil less bottom end. u wont have as much wheel spin so it might feel about the same. but thats for some people like me who dont way anything near half of what the bike does.
