I JUST PURCHASE A 2003 HONDA 400EX AND THE KEY WAS LOST AND THE OWNER INSTALED I TOGEL SWITCH IT STARTS RIGHT WHEN IT IS IN NETREL BUT WHEN IT IS IN GEAR AND THE CLUCH IS IN IT WILL NOT TURN OVER. LIKE THE IS NO POWER. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE TOGEL SWITCH THERE ARE TWO WRIES NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING. I ORDERED A NEW KEY SWITCH BUT IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE COULD BE DOING THIS

Sounds like it could be the neutral safety switch. Does it have an aftermarket clutch lever? If so there are two wires that go to it that need to be wired together. It's possible those two wires are the smae you are talking about. I don't remember what the colors are though.

If it has any other clutch lever than stock it wont start in gear.. the stock lever has a signal that it sends out for it to be able to start in gear

If the two wires that go to that switch are wired together you can start the motor while in gear. This is a very common mod. The only downfall is the motor can start in gear without the clutch lever pulled in.
