250R engine worth?

I had snagged up a R awhile back with the intentions of fixing it up but now need to move it. frame is junk, arms and rear end are stock but the engine seemed to run fine. i have no clue what all is inside of it, if anything beyond a newer piston and rings. started easy, no smoke etc.


any idea on what it would be worth, its been a few years since i did alot of buying/selling with the 250r.

I would say between $500-$700 with it being all stock.

do you still have the complete bike? i would be interested in buying the whole thing. what would you want for it?

if you didn't disassemble it yet. make sure you do a compression test. that way the buyer will have a good idea what shape the motor is in. the 86s usually go from 500-800. as long as there is no case damage etc.

the engines are 85/86 and then 87/89 but the 89 has the updated clutch
