start button

has anyone with an electric start removed the cluster on the handlebar that has the light switch and starter button and just put on a button? if so what was the best way to do that?

yes, i did this on my old 400ex and my 450er, really cleans up the bars.....easiest way i found to look on your stock switch,find the color of the wire and then splice one of the switch wires into that. I believe the 2nd wire is just the ground wire....hope that helps

i just cut my stock harness and wired to the leads that went to the start button. i need to find time to go to the local shop and get a tether switch to wire into the stock kill switch wires. i am hoping to make it there by the weekend...

and i don't run lights so...

and i also hid that button on the throttle side between my brake mount and the throttle...
