So, im looking at 300ex's to see how i like them and evrything, but i dont know how they are speed/power/torque or anything or if they have alot of ''pep", im almost 15, 5'7" and, 125lbs, would this be a good fit, if not what would u reccomend (honda) Ive been riding 3-wheelers, dirtbikes, and ATV's since i was three so i have a few years experience.

Also, right now i have a Kawasaki KX100 that i bought to race, but i changed my mind about racing, and sometimes i just like to put-put around in the woods, and all, and u cant do that with a kx100, so i am goin to sell it and possibly get a 300ex. But, my mom and dad say that im never satisfied with anything, i try to tell them that i changed my mind, and that a 300ex is slower, but its not working, i dont kno why they would care because i paid for the kx with my own money...., but thats parents i guess...lol

So any comments, or suggestions on these would be appreciated.

I am 5'5 and 180 and I ride a 300ex, they aren't that fast stock prob top speed about the same as your KX100. I am a parent also of 2 crazy a** young boys and I would much rather them on a quad than on a dirtbike....Less chance of getting hurt!!!

Good Luck convincing them!!!

300ex would be fine, but you'll probably outgrow it quickly.

Point out the benefits of the 400ex.

Honestly, it is easier to ride. Smoother power. Lighter. Wider/more stable. Longer wheel base, less likley to wheelie going up a hill. Just as dependable. Also air cooled.

Get him to ride both if that is possible.

I was personally going to reccomend the 400ex. I think you'll be wanting to upgrade in short order. IMHO, the 400ex is the best you can do for an all around, super dependable, trail quad.

lol yeh i know how you feel but a kx100 is faster than a 400ex just so you know acceleration not top speed

actually i hve dragged a couple diff. 400ex's and they get me for the first like 50 or so feet, but aftr that i get way...way ahead, but the 400ex's were only piped w/20" tires, my kx hs pipe/silencer, v-force reeds, and i beleive a .02 wiesco piston, so that may hv some effect

if your on the kx now the 300 is going to get boring quick. i would seriously go for the 400. imo best bang for the buck. there practicly the same price in the same condition.your 15 and still growing.

yeh thats wat im thinking, but my dad thinks otherwise
i told him all benefits of 400ex

i even got on computer and made a chart comparing 300ex to 400ex and changed lots of the stats so the 400 was only like 4hp more...lol

but still he says no.....i dont know wat hes thinkin

but also when i asked to get a blaster like 2yrs ago he said no, but then he changed his mind like a month later, so i just hope that happens again!

thats what i said but he still said no...lol

i pointed out all benefits, even made a comparison chart on the comp. and changed the stats to make the 400ex only slightly more powerful (4hp)..lol....still no

but, last year i asked to get a blaster he said no, but a month later he said yes, so i hope that happens again!!

If you werent satisified with the Blaster, there's no way you'll be satisfied with the 300ex. They are very equal quads. 300ex stock has a little better geometry, but the blaster is lighter.

I'd just wait a year and get the 400ex when you're 16.

it wasnt that i wasnt satisfied with blaster, i jus wanted 4stroke

I have a 300ex and I love it. I got clocked goin 68mph and that is 100% stock. I have about 10,000 miles on it. I had a speedometer with a odometer on it and that's what it said when it quit workin. So whether it was right or not I don't know. But I have never had to touch the motor. I keep the oil and filter changed in it constantly. The only major problem I have had with it is the axle bearings going out. I've never had to replace ball joints, wheel bearings or tie rod ends; all that stuff is still as tight as it was from the factory. When I first got that quad it was always in the air and it hasn't been babied at all in its life. As far as power goes, it is more than enough for just about any type of trail riding you do. If the 400 would have had reverse when I got my 300, there would be a 400ex sittin in my garage right now.

what about a 250r? your dad might not catch that it is alot more powerful. it has abot the same deminsions as the 400. aftermarket is readily avalible.

250r..haha

thats the prob with the 400 (he wont even consider 250r)...my dad knows too much about this, cuz he grew up riding 250r, 350x, xr500, cr500, lt500, lt250, and such so this is why

its one of those times when i wish my dad spent his entire childhood life making q-tip structures so that he would be completely illiterate, and know nothing about atvs and dbikes..lol
