So I thought I would share my new investment as I know there are many individuals here who appreciate this as I do.

Let me know what you think..

It took me a very long time to find the Vette that I wanted.
Black on Black with all the bells and wistles.

With some new Mods it has
450 HP and 425 Foot LBS of Torque.
0-60 in 3.7 Seconds.
SWEET!!!!

Here is a video going around 141 MPH and some photos.

On the video it is blurry at 1st but it comes clear. Also notice when it shifts into 6th gear. Right around 139 or so. I still had plenty of room to go..

vette's are a different story. most family vehicles are limited to 100 such as silverados, tahoes, suburbans etc...

I dont make it a habit to drive that fast. I actully drive that car slower than usual. Dont have to prove much.

Corvette's are different. No limit on what that car can do. When I have the urge to go fast I take the car down to the local track and race it there.

I thought I would test the car out in the snow today.
I found out it does well in doing donuts but not to good going up a sloped snowy driveway.

If the corvette was governed I would say that takes away one of the points of having the Corvette. Raw Horse Power!!! Cant take that away.

Oh yeah. Sports cars arent governed. They govern cars because of tire ratings and true sports cars come with racing tires.

Awesome looking car . I'm not much of a Corvette fan , UNLESS the car is all black like yours.

Have you ever seen one with the blacked out rims ?? It's enough to make me drool !!!!;)

Now that is a color of rim I have not seen yet. I agree that would be unique and good lookin.

Like Quad18star said about racing tires... These tires are Z rated which in a nut shell means they are race tires and f I have a flat with one of them I still can drive 50 mph and over 150 miles on a flat tire. AMAZING!

nice ride, a few local people around here have some C6 Zo6's. To bad the economy is so high right now that the prices are through the roof for those cars.

Looks nice to be honest im not much of a GM fan. I do like to 53 to 69 vettes and thats about it. Other than that the only other vette i like is the new 2009 vette. All carbon fiber, supercharged v8! How does 600hp sound?! Does 200+ mph and goes 0 to 60 in i think under 3 seconds. Now thats a corvette!!!!

Also theres sooooo many all black vettes like yours with black rims in the tristate area its to the point where your like " wow another one" LOL sarcasticly.

And oh yeah my Neighbor is one of the guys that runs SLP Performance here in NJ. (yeah SLP is from my area) He owns a really nice cobra mustang go figure!!! (doesnt have a gm lol)

Well the good thing is that Chevrolet makes Corvettes not GM. ;) The corvette will always be around... Now the new ZR1 pictured above might be the last year they make it, as it is very rare.

My dad had a 1995 ZR1 very fast.

As for the prices of the vettes I agree. High pricies, but this is the reason I went with the C6 vs. the Z06. I figured 30k+ less than the Z06 yet stick in some money to the engine and mods and you have one powerful Corvette.

Saying GM/Chevrolet is going to quit making the Corvette is like saying they're going to quit making trucks.

Where did you hear they were going to stop producing the Corvette? I wouldn't be surprised if the ZR1 was a limited production model that was only out for a couple years, just like before, but I highly doubt the Corvette is going to go away anytime soon. Especially with newer technology that has no problem achieving good emissions and mileage in a high performance vehicle. Too bad Dodge can't get that one figured out:D .

Ahem GM is chevy and chevy is GM. there one in the same just all the companies are under GM with diff names. Its still all the same thing. General Motors said that with the strict fuel economy that is being passed by 2020 or whatever alot of there high performance vehicles will be axed off one by one. If anything id think that the corvette would go last. And oh yeah i almost forgot that there has to be a certain percentage all companies vehicles have to meet as a whole. and not only individual vehicles mileage ratings. And all of this is a "might". It all depends on things like sales, price of gas, economy, how buisiness is doing. Who knows what the future holds. Hell they killed the camaro for a lil while and im sure no one thought it would disappear. theres alot of uncertanties right now in the world as far as high performace vehicles go. Many magazines have written lately about a certain reality of the muscle car dying off for good. It will happen someday im more than sure. Hopefully far into the future.

And oh yeah the price tag of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 last i heard was 80,000+

You're right about the percentage. A certain percentage of the companies production vehicles has to have a MPG of 35+ I believe (somewhere around there). I really do believe they stopped making the Camaro for such a short period because they wanted to be able to bring it back as their retro classic muscle car.

If you're worried about the Corvette dying off because of it being a performance vehicle I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Those pushrod V8's are capable of great mileage and the new 4.5L V8 Duramax's coming out are rumored to be someday available in the Corvette and other vehicles besides the 1/2 trucks.

Nice car!

The Corvette z06 is the only 'super car' without a gas guzzler tax.

If GM axes the Vette it will be long after Dodge has axed the Viper, in 10-12 years there is no reason the Vette couldn't get 35+ on the Interstate. My buddy's 2001 will get 30-33 at 70 in 6th gear if can keep your foot out of it.

the Vette must be geared a little lower than the GT500, we did 122in 3rd in a buddy's GT500. I think it went into the 150's in 4th.

My corvette has the best and worse gas mileage. If im heavy on the foot then of course the mileage sucks. However when Im on the freeway in 6th gear @ 80mph my RPM's are only 1700. Im getting 30-34 MPG.

Yep, nothing like a T56 for fuel mileage in a sports car.

We pulled 25-26 with the cruise set at 110 in a friends C6, his Lotus get far worse mileage, its kinda funny.

There is no way that they are going to remove the corvette from there lineup!! In fact they are coming out with more high performance they are coming out with a camaro

yeah it probley idles at 110 just sipping on gas. Some people don't understand how bigger motors can get better gas mileage

That Camero is good lookin. It will come with the LS1 Corvette motor in it. But GM/Chevy will never make a car that will be faster than the Corvette. If they did then the Corvette would cease to be the Corvette.

alot of people dont realize just how dominant the Vette is, it held onto class champ, for 5 years strait 2000-2005, and an overall win in 2006. and yes highly tuned, ect ect. but that still has alot of impact into the production models preformance.

how can you possibly discontinue a car with a record like that in a world racing circut.

very nice car man i have always wanted a vette

I appreciate the compiment. My father Still has his '59 Vette, and everytime I sit in it I drool and feel just a amazed as being in my new C6. That car will always be an Icon. It took many long hours of work and my wife made sure I paid off all my other cars before the she let me purchase this one (Smart). I myself appreciate the car that much more.
