Rebuild top end?

I have an 01 300ex and it smokes a bit not horible but it does. And i have asked again and again if i can rebuild my top end and my dad always says no he doesnt want to mess with it. i am fully capable of disasembling my atv and removing me engine and taking the top end out and apart. i need help convincing him, and how much would it cost to get it bored?... help plz. pistons like 80, and could i do a high compression piston ( 11-1) on pump gas with out other mods? thnks

when i got mine bored it cost 55. you could run a hi comp piston stock but would not get the full increase without the supporting mods. hope this helps

what mods other then high comp...like a cam? is tht all cuz i want a cam to

ya, a cam and maybe a bigger carb would deff. be a night and day difference. a clamp on filter would be good too

do you think just the 400ex carb or get like a fcr (holy shoot..their expenceize) so i might do a 400ex carb, AMR coil and stage 1 hotcam, if i do high compression. where in my powerpand will i get the most from the high compreesion piston?

High compression adds power to the bottom end, and cam's add top end. This is why a cam/piston combo is such a good combo to add, they complement each other.
