head porting really worth the money?

i am thinking about getting the head ported on my 400ex and i was wondering if it was worth the $375 from sparks racing.... and how much power will it really add?

I wouldn't spend that much unless it was including the head work for oversized valves. Magic Racing does porting for around $250.

it includes a 3 angle valve job, anyways... that besides the point, i want to know how much of a power increase i will see with it

I don't think the power increase is going to be that great, maybe 2hp, but throw a carb into the mix and thats when you will notice a huge gain.

where is the cheapest place to get a 39mm FCR from? and how much of a power increase am i looking at if i do both?

fcr carb will run you about 400$. you will really start to notice the power increases as you mod the motor. the fcr will wake the 400 right up!! you could also mod your stock carb for a lot cheaper. remove the choke and have it bored out.
