What exactly do you mean when you say get your head ported? Are you talking about getting your domes changed to a different size, which i'm not even sure you can do on a stock head. Or are you talking about shaving a certain thou off the bottom of the head to give you more compression?

yes, shaving. looking to bump it to 160-165, do they have different jobs, like a drag, mx, xc or what ? mid or top end jobs ?

660R, yes there are many different versions of cylinder porting. Some label it as mx, trail, dune, drag, etc. while others will sell it as stage I, II, III, IV, etc. If you're talking about having your head milled, those are set up for your port work and the type of fuel you plan to use with your motor build. It will be important that you let your builder know the type of exhuast you will be using and your riding/race style as well as the type of fuel to be used. From there they will be able to better explain all your options and other parts/modifications that will compliment your motor build.

A piped banshee usually has around 50 rear wheel HP, ported and pump gas will get you in the low 60's, strong porting and race fuel will get you near 70, drag porting typically runs in the 75 hp and up. e-mail me if you want to talk, I've done quite a few if you're interested.

thanks for all the help i guess a mille head/ or coolhead doesnt do much by itself, just boosts compression ? there for you would get more low end ?

A milled head or cool head will bump the compression giving you more torque and HP across the power spread. The gains aren't as big a porting, but it's important to have the head work done with the porting. Hope this helps. Bob.
