the other day i was riding and went to shift down and my shifter was stuck down. so i shifted up and it came free. so i shifted it back down and it worked. as i started to go a again as i hit a high rpm's it made a grinding noise. i stopped put it in neutral then hit the gas letting it go in to a high rpm's again and no noise. so i started riding a again and as i hit a high rpm's it made the grinding noise. i pulled the cluch in and revd it up. nothing there was no noise again it only happens when i rev it out in a gear(any gerar). oh yea and reverse is messed up. when i put it in reverse it hesitates then goes backwards then makes a clanking noise and grinding noise again. reverse seems like the gear is missing teeth.

but what could be wrong with the other gears???

well that all depends on what happened. Also, if you are going to do the work, and what ever you break trying to fix it (trust me. Something dumb always breaks when fixing something else)

Something is for sure wrong in your tranny. To have a shop do it its like getting the motor rebuilt, you have to tear the whole engine apart. Might as welll freshin the rings while your at it or whatever else needs attention. Sometimes you can find a whole tranny on ebay for cheaper then one of the parts that is broke.

no
i just figured out my quads only worth $2100 as is now. and it will cost $1000-1400 to fix it. if i get the tranny redone i would have put about $2700 in it over this year in parts maybe more. so srew that im trading it in and getting a kfx450 or a trx450r.

which one should i get??
i always like kawasaki but im not sure about fuel injection, has there been any problems with that in water???
