has anyone cut there spring to make there throttle easier to push? if so, how many coils did you cut and did it make a big difference. i can trail ride all day and not have a problem, but my thumb feels like it will fall off during a 2 hour harescramble. is it just the main slide spring to cut? any other ideas as well.

A lot of Iowa racers put a Honda throttle assembly on to help, I may have one if your interested, Z.

are you talking about the spring inside of the carb ?

Cutting a torsion spring makes it stiffer. There's less coils to soak up the twisting. (Yes, it's the spring inside the carb.) I bought a softer spring on ebay which helped. Switching to the Honda thumb throttle was the best change though. The throttle is closer to the handle bar versus the stock Yamaha throttle. It's worth every bit of $45.
