Any suggestions on a new battery for an 07 450? Mine crapped out only after a couple of months - seemed weak when I got it from the dealer and with the honda being cold natured, it dies after about 6 seconds of trying to start (my 300ex starts in about 2 seconds, cold or not). Didn't know if I should get a new one from the dealer or not.

Mine was bumper to bumper, why wouldn't they cover a battery? that is rediculous...

Just put a charge on it that's probably all it needs.

No tether and I keep charging but it won't hold.

2 summers and 2 winters on my battery with no problems.I did have a hard time starting it in the winter until i got the adjustable fuel screw;)And they should cover it under warrany if not id call honda and talk to them directly. It doesnt cost the manufacturer **** for a battery and if thats all it takes to make a customer happy then they should give you 3.And as for the dealer all they gotta do is replace yours and say thay got a bad one from a brand new bike:rolleyes: and if they dont id find a new dealer.

LOL..it does indeed cost your dealer for the battery.

Most warranties do not cover the battery past 30 days from the dealership, and even aftermarket batteries have a 3 to 6 month manufacture warranty.

Chances are the battery was not properly charged when it was activated and you will need a new unit. Yuasa is the only decent unit out there (I sell over 60,000 units a year) and it is also the same brand that is used in OEM Honda machines.

How are you charging it on what cycle? If you put these on a high charge it will cook the battery i charge mine on a 1.5 volt output and it's been fine for over two years now on the stock battery, you could of cooked the water out of it if you charged it on to high af amperage.

I agree charging rate is important, but FYI, there is no water or free acid in these batteries
