radar detectors

anybody have one? two of my buddies just bought some within the last few months and they seem pretty nice. one is a cobra and the other i dont know. they only pick up when there is a speed trap, but do nothing if a cop is right next to you at a light but i think thats the way its supposed to work.

needless to say, im really interested in one and could use a little more info. if anyone has one, let me know how you like it and how much i might spend for a good one.

my sisters boyfriend has one that picks up polica and speed traps from a mile away. It is awesome. I will try to find out the name of it.

It will pick it up from a mile away if the cop is shooting radar. Around here the cops have radar detectors that they just press a button and it gets the speed of the car and then turns off. So radar detectors are useless.

the initial $450 for it hurts, but add up a ticket or 2 plus lawyer fees and its paid for......i just ordered up my 2nd one

and they can be upgraded to the newest version anytime for a small fee!

What I do is sell the old version on Ebay and get 90% of the value,then buy a new one ..

If anyone thinks that the V1 is not the best ,just look at how much used ones go for on ebay !!

i have this one i love it and when i go to virginia some of the cops have radar detector detector which tells them if someone is using a radar detector which is illegal but i havent got cought yet:devil: and it cost me about 250 bucks but it has paid for its self allready

Go with a Phantom. I bought one a few years back to put in my C5 Vette and it has saved me several times.
