+1 forward is a 250r thing. 400ex's are best without the forward. ive heard a couple people on here say that american star arms were prety good for the price and ive never heard anyone say anythin realy negative about them. if you do get a set let me know how it works out and try to get me teh guys e-mail if you can i havent got an e-bay acount so i cant bid on them. but i might be able to e-mail the guy for a set.

I have been doing some research myself and I'm coming up with mix'd reviews.

More of the reviews are coming up neg. though. I heard the heim ball joint is weak. No other hardcore evidence.

It definately has price going for it. Wonder if this warranty is true..."And you still get American Star Racings Ground Shaking Lifetime Structural Warranty. They replace the Bent or Broken A-Arm, Even if its your fault!!! " :huh :huh

Go to the QuadShop and get some Housers. Tell him(Jeff) you are a member of exriders. and the Price should be somewhere around those. I mean they are only like 525 anyway. With a Discount it be even less.

Housers Rule

Houser's, Herrmann, JD Performance, or Arens are all a bit cheaper than others, but very good.

I have Ricky Stator +3+1's on my 440 - I have been racing with them for a while now, and so far they are fine. The only thing I have noticed is the clear coat is chipping off, but that's because I get the crap roosted out of me by my BF's Raptor......:blah

I got mine for a really good price - they advertise the set for about $500 but I got mine cheaper than that as a race discount. The joints are nice and while the tie-rods aren't beatiful - they are strong! Everything went on very easily - fit was perfect. Check out their website - I think it's www.rickystator.com. The guys I talked to were really nice, too. They do stators, mostly - but they do a-arms, too. :D

Quality comes at a price.

Value = quality at a better price.

Cheap arse a-arms made from prison labor in china = over priced.

If you are looking for a deal then that would be a good price on the a-arms you like not what your showing us here.

OK I dont know where or who makes the A Star stuff but I will tell you that the rodend or ball joint shown is not of the same load capacity as the ones on my Housers.

You could change them fairly cheap if the broke and get the better ones but they might now fit the threads on the arms.

I think they just say that to cover there arses if someone would try and sue them! My friend has set, they are very comparable to lonestar. In fact, i think they are almost identical to lonestar. He launches some pretty crazy stuff too, and no problems yet. But i would go with houser. I know a guy selling houser +1s for $400 if your interested. They are in good shape, just has some of the PC on the bottom chipped off. But no dents or anything!

They also have a "Race" a-arm. I have seen them before in the magazine. I would stick to a well known brand though.

American Star is trash. They are the same company, under the same managment as Last Rebel Racing(which went out of business for p1ss poor quality parts and RIPPING people off).

I got Arens, a deal fell into my lap at the track. $300 new in the box, never mounted. I am real happy with them so far. I was going to get Housers until this deal came around. :D
I wish I had a digital camera to show them to you. :(

those a-arms are trash and the company who makes em is shady. if you want some nice inexpensive a-arms check out strong arms. www.hsdracing.com

Those arms are crap. Heim joints are NOT the way to go to make decent arms. I'm sure you could break those hybrid heim/ball joints with one good airshot. Otherwise, it looks like they tried to copy Laeger's design.

You also have to watch out for the cheapie people out there. There are many companies who are buying cheap 4130 chromoly from out of the country, and it DOES NOT have the same qualities as good old American 4130. It welds like **** and doesn't stand up to the abuse that 4130 is supposed to stand up to.

Stick with reputable companies who have been building stuff for a long time. If you can swing the cash for Lone-Star, Arens, etc, then do it.

Check out the Arens. I think they make a good product, plus he is on here.

man, that sucks you can't get them from Denton. denton had the best prices on them... oh well

bongwater200
11-17-2002, 03:57 PM
LOL......

I don't think Denton actually MADE any a-arms to begin with. They were just someone else's with his name on them. I think some of them were Arens, maybe even some early Laeger's.
