Has anyone found "smaller" rear sprockets? Like 37T or 38T ?

What kind of track are you running? What size are running in the front.

We are running the Typhoon (TY-125) on the "Short Track" and the "TT Track" - We have tried several sprocket combinations - but are looking to get more "top end" out of the quad. Right now we are running 16T and 42T.....

the xr50 sprockets are the same size as the typhoon. i ordered a replacement sprocket for my sons typhoon from the ssr version of the typhoon.. The reason i wanted the ssr version sprocket is because the typhoon has those stupid littl rubber bushings in teh sprocket mounting bolts that wera out and cause slop in the drive train. The SSR rear sporcket is a bolt through like a normal sprocket. not sure why typhoon does it with eh littl ebushings. any way when i went to take the sprocket off while i was down at my friends pitbike shop. I matched the rear sprocket up to the xr50 sprocket. exact match. only problem is that the biggest rear spocket you can get for the xr50 is a 40 tooth. so i would have to also buy a new front sprocket. well i had already bought the rear so i stuck with it. but the ssr sprocket is very heavy. solid plate steel. so i am having the sprocket lightened. but i could swithc the rear to a 40 and the front to a 13. to get back to stock. question is what is the stock gearing of the typhoon. the ssr rear is 46 tooth. and the front is 15. so to maintain that gearing i would have to switch to a 13 40 combo.

Many of the "knock-off" typhoons do not use the rear sprocket with the rubber bushings. The NST knock-off comes with a 48 tooth rear sprocket & it bolts right onto the Xtreme Typhoon!

the typhoon is a 43 stock rear sprocket. at least that is what is on my thypoon 125. and the stock sprocket on the ssr copy is a 46 stock. but it is solid.

Got the Honda XR50 37T, 38T AND 39T sprockets in today - they bolt right up - going to try a few combinations over the weekend!

Thanks hanzito!

How do you go about pulling the axle to remove the sprocket? and anybody know how many links are in the stock chain?

to get the axle out take one hub off and loosen the bolts on the center carrier. then if needed tap on the end of the axle with a rubber mallet. i put a 11 tooth front and a 41 tooth rear on today. the stock was 13/43. so i put on xr50 rear and a pitbike front sprocket. I also put on a BBR pipe. sounds better will find out how it runs soon. i sllid it around our snow covered parking lot some but was hard to tell the difference.

The stock chain is 102.....
Once you get your rear sprocket off - I suggest you have all of your rear sprockets cut in half - then you don't have to take the rear end apart any more... It has worked great for us...
