View Full Version : What is the best handlebar bend?

07-31-2001, 10:21 PM
I was wondering I am still kinda new to the sport but would like to here what everyone here thinks. Umm to me it seems like the 250r class quads all have a straight bend is this correct? Like what I mean if that doesn't sound clear is the handlebar doesn't bend inward much. Its more straight..

Hopefully someone can enlighten me on this.

I use FMF909's with a quad bend and they work pretty good,,,you don't wanna go with to low of a bend or you'll be reaching for your bars all the time and it won't be comfortable..

Handlebar is an item that depends on you. What ever feels good to you is what you should get. You should buy the better quality bar that wont bend as easy, but as far as the width, rise, kick back, that is all up to you. I run the Tag RM high bend. I like them because they are 805 wide, thats almost 32" wide. I feel I have more control over the bike with the wide bar.
My suggestion would be to sit on a couple other peoples bikes and see what feel good.

As long as it's not the kind of bend that is custom made when your quad flips over and over and lands on the bars a few times you're OK.

cr high bend is popular, its not as high as stock but not to low. I have personally never ridden the cr high bend, but i hear ALOT about it.

the steering stems will bend before your bars will bend...stock stems are cheap...but like everyone else said...bars are a personal preference...

How are they different from the stock bars?
Are they a little lower with less pull-back?

I dont know. I bought my 400 used without the stock bars. I think it had a cheap set o moose painted bars. I do really like the Renthal 400ex bend. But, to be honest, I was going to buy the Factory 909 (FMF) quad bars, but they only came in black (at least thats what Denniskirk.com said). I wanted silver so I went with the Renthals.

I just got them. The Renthal 400EX bend bars are exaclty the same as the stock bars.
I wish I got the Racer Bend instead.

I found that RM bend bars match the stock Honda 300EX bend best.

It is a lower bend than the 400EX, and putting the Renthal "TRX" bend bars on the 300EX makes them feel like ape grabbers!

The lower bend is nice, and you can always replace the yellow crossbar pad with red.

Last time I wrecked, I went out and bought some $20.00 MSR ATV High bend bars - they seemed pretty close to the stock bend, and since I am 5'10", I like the height. And I figured I would get cheap bars so the next time I wreck my bars will bend before anything more expensive does.:square I am very happy with them.

I agree, though. It's definately a CUSTOM feature. Get what feels best for you.
