clear coat?

what are the advantages of clear coating?
does it affect the final color and protect it any?
just trying to decide if I should use clear or not.

for instance, if I went to a trans.blue or blue vein
do you suggest clear coating it and what's the added cost.

clear pc is the same as clear paint in regards that it adds protection. clear can add gloss to some colors, bring out the final colors in others, and slow down the effects of UV (but it wont make a non UV powder UV resistant)

I can usually add clear to any color combo, but we have to watch how thick it goes on so that parts still work without interference etc.

adding clear to a color usually runs an additional 25%

what would it do to say... blue vein
would it darken or lighten?

also I've heard that added additional
coats may cause the pc to be brittle?

it wont affect the color

and yes, thicker pc can become more prone to chip or not hold up
