I've done some pretty lengthy searching on the website and I want to be certain I'm heading in the right direction here. I figured all of you that have and run a 416EX would be the best ones to ask.
I'm about to install a Wiseco 87mm 416cc Hi-Compression Piston with a Stage 1 Hotcam and I wanted to know how my jetting should be set up. With a stock piston, EHS airbox lid, UNI filter, and HMF slip-on I was running a 40K pilot, 155K/158K main and the needle was in the middle position. The best I can gather from all the threads I looked through is that a 42K Pilot, Needle Clip lowered one slot and a 165K to 175K main. My riding altitude is mainly below 3,000 ft and riding temperature range is between 50 and 90 degrees.
So the question I need answered is, what is a good starting point for my jetting? What is you current jetting on your 416cc? Thanks in advance for any help you and lend me.

what compression will you have. When i had 11:1 on 93 octane i was running a 165 main jand 42 pilot. When I had a 12.5:1 piston on 110 octane i was running a 170-175 main and 42 pilot.

I did forget to mention that. It will be a 11:1 piston. So you say a 165K is a good starting point?

Hornet God. If you havent already ordered that combo, I have it sitting here beside me. Im selling an 11:1 416 (87mm) piston and a stage 1 hotcam.
Both are used, but in good shape. The piston will need new rings, which is just customary when you rebuild an engine.
Let me know if your interested.:)
