jetting

so i just rebuilt my 86 r. now the jetting is off. i have a 145 main jet and wen i get to top end it cuts out. the plug is black so im thinking that i need to go with a lower jet??

let me know what you guys think

i cant imagine needing to go lower after a rebuild...

what all is done to your bike?

where are you located? elevation, temp?

i dont have much done to it.

fmf pipe and silincer
fmf reeds
planed head
and a weisco pro lite


located in upstate ny temp is between 20-30 deg f and i dont know the elevation

what ratio of fuel are you running?

is it fresh fuel and freshly mixed?

that doesnt sound right at all... it ran ok before?

Well its fairly common to foul a plug while breaking in a new top end.
Id try a fresh plug and see if its still doing it.
With the mods you have and fresh top end I would think you need to go higher(148) if anything? just my 2 cents!
