yeah they are really good products...depending on the track what do u usually put the compression and rebound on...

i jus have to get the toe in and toe out adjusted correctly..i guess thats what its called...the angle on the tire...i heard that the back of the front tire should be 1/8 inch shorter than the front of the tire...or at a 2% angle...
does anybody have any input on this....

THANX

THANX 1/8 is what i do.

I have my rebout and comp. all over the place. Ill ride practice and see how the track is and if i can tell that there will be braking bumps i put the rebound around the middle and the compression middle also. and vice versa. Seems to work well

Yes get out there and put them on.There made to stop the vibration on the shock bodies from the upper frame mounts. If u dont use them the vibration from the upper shock eyelit can vibrate the upper shock body cap's loctite loose and u know what happens from there.Leaks!!!

Were the ballpoints already installed on ur SMC's when u got them or did u screw them in ur self?

The reason I ask is because on yours the large nut is screwed onto the lower balljoint before the a-arm is screwed on. Opposite of mine.

On mine the lower a-arm is screwed onto the balljoint first, then the large nut is tightened on after.

Just wondering if Steve changed the design or something.

Good question on the lower balljoint bolts.Mine are on the outside. That looks a little unsafe vs. having the bolts on the outside!!

yes the ball joints were already installed on my a arms...the only thing i had to do is use the stock ball joints on my tie rods and grease the bearings on the a arms...

do u have a pic of ur's so i can see what ur talking about...

Ya I'll take some close up pictures of mine tomorrow.
If they came like that steve must of changed the design and made the lower a-arms longer or the top a-arms shorter.
Because if I set mine up like that I'd have some insane camber.

I noticed that some were like yours and some were like mine.Wonder why there all different.Im sure theres a reson. But mine are +2 not +3.Probably a leverage thing.Eitherway the balljoint is threaded into the a arm and the lower bolt is just to lock it into place..

I notice a lot of the other bikes that have SMCs like YFZ/KFX's have the nut in the inside like his.

Not sure y he made that change, I'd think it would be stronger the other way.

01-21-2008, 01:13 PM
aight guys..i jus got a response back from steve and this is what he said...

"yep that is how they are now.I changed it so that it gives me more room on the high clearance long travel. So that there is no clearance issues on the back side. Some are they other way it really makes no difference other tahn clearance. The yamahas have been on the outside allways. Thanks Steve"....
