I really don't want a skid plate on my swingarm, but I ride trails some times and don't want to damage anything. I was looking at the AC racing and the pro armor skids.

I want the one that doesn't hang down too far, does anyone have any experience with either of these skids, or what would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Go about 3/4 of the way down the page.

Yeah, I seen those, but I prefer an actual skid plate, like the two that I posted, but I don't want the linkage box. Thanks for helping.

I have the PRM 0.190” on my YFZ, but it has a linkage box. I also bought, but returned, the GYTR skid (0.250”). From pictures on another thread on here, the GYTR one is identical to the Pro Armor skid. The GYTR skid hung down on the chain side more than stock. I lost about ¾” of ground clearance. The AC and PRM have about the same clearance as the stock plastic one. I did not get the AC because of comments on here about them being soft as butter and the bolts falling out.
PRM has a 0.125” skid with no linkage box – it is their MX/Dune skid.
Also, REM has a GYTR style skid without the loss of ground clearance, but it was not available when I needed it and it is still out of stock on their website.
Hope this helps. Also, the GYTR was 3.5 pounds and the PRM 0.190” is 5.5 pounds.

PRM all the way... Def. don't get AC Racing they're only 3/16" thick and don't cover your linkage... Pro Armor are kind of expensive. PRM's are nice cover everything and def the best looking wise... Get a .190 3/16" thick or if u want heavy duty get a .250 but I think the .190 is thick enough for the everyday trail rider IMO;)

I don't want a full skid that covers the linkage, I just want something to offer a little protection to the sprocket and rotor.
I got a good deal on the AC skid, so I bought that one. Thanks for all the input fellas.
