Air box issue

I purchased a 300EX that I rebuilding. I remove the filter off their box and it looks like the previous owner clamped filter to tight and crushed the tube. And a friend of mine puchased a use one and it the same way. Was wondering if this is a common problem and if any one knows of a fix.

Wow.. they must have really had to have overtightened that bugger. The flange is plastic but it is fairly stout.

I personally haven't seen anyone do that.

One of the two airboxes that came with the quad I just bought is like this to, I have no idea how someone clamped that thing down tight enough, its a pretty thick piece of plastic.

I found these but they are for a 250R. I not sure if they will fit or not.

I may look into having something machined like these that will fit a 250X/300EX.
