this is my 01 400ex with 05 450r plastics. it took quite a bit of fab to make them work, but i did it. what do you 450 guys think?

thanks guys, not done with it yet. still have to get the frame pc'ed and get aftermarket a-arms and an axle. just wanted to get the plastics all fabed up before i get it pc'ed.

O gosh. A spy in the R camp... Mine looks just like that! Only no cooling fins :-P

How do you like those DG nerfs? Have you done anything to "test" them?

one of them is pretty bent. they are not very strong IMO. i beat the hell out of it with a hammer to get it back half straight. i am thinking of going with some pro armour nerfs in the spring

I was thinking about AC. I had Pro Armors, and they were nice, but I'd prefer they didn't go all the way to the a-arms. I like slightly more compact bars. Everything Pro Armor has ridiculously good fit and finish. Amazingly well built. I never asked much of them strength-wise, but the ones I had didn't mind if I repeatedly used their farthest-extending parts to mount my beast. I wouldn't think they would disappoint you.

you have painted on the engine and all over the wheel hub.

looks almost like a 450r. but it looks like you got the plastics to match up pretty good. And with nerfs. the pro armors are really nice but like jimmy said I dont like how they bolt through the a-arms neither. Just somethign tells me that something is going to happen and just destroy my a-arms brackets.

i would have used the new 400 plastics, but i dont really like them. i love the look of the 450r. its looks so sporty. plus you don't see any 400's running around with 450r plastics. mine is kinda a one of kind
