Renthals are good from what I hear. I would get a Sunstar sprocket. They are only $15 at Dennis Kirk. Stock gearing is 13/38. If you want the quad to go faster then get either a larger front sprocket or a samller rear sprocket. 3 teeth on the rear equals 1 tooth on the front.

I like both the Renthal front sprocket and Renthal rear sprocket... Great quality!

Note: The Renthal rear sprocket is aluminum, big weight savings (less rotating mass), and it holds up very well with my fat butt!:)

As for number of teeth... I would keep the 38 tooth rear, and play around with different front sprockets to meet your needs.

Good luck!

If you want the quad to go faster then get either a larger front sprocket or a samller rear sprocket.

That would be quicker, not faster right? Wouldn't a smaller rear or larger front actually make you slower on the top end.

Smaller front sprocket will give you less topend, as will a bigger rear sprocket.

Yeah, going for "top end" speed, you will want to either increase your front sprocket size, or add larger diameter rear tires... But if you want to be "quicker", you will want a smaller front sprocket, or smaller diameter rear tires!

Good luck!

Also a sprocket you should look at is Sprocket Specialist. I got one for my 400ex and its a good sprocket.

on a 300 go with the 14t. its not to big and won't take away from your bottom end but still give some top end. if the 300 is piped or have any other mods you could also put a 36 or 35 rear on it.

on a 300, get smaller rear tires and go up a tooth on the front sproket.
I put renthals on my old 300ex and there great. DID chains are some of the best also.
But for the very very best, choose sidewinder ($$$)

im running 14/36 gearin and i come within about 7-8 mph top end as a 400ex (pr at least i think so) and no lost bottom end was noticable

But for the very very best, choose sidewinder ($$$) Well, my experience with their (Sidewinder) rear sprocket was not a good one, it broke and had various stress cracks in it after about a dozen rides on it... Where Renthal has been there for me and my fat butt. For the money... I would recommend the Renthal... Just my 2 cents and experience.
