Well i guess ihave no luck with them.... My first race, i was running one, and on the first moto, my quad wouldnt start on the line... After i had to get a DNS on the first moto, we took it off and it ran perfectly fine, and ever since then, we have ran it with a regular long hose. Well last week, my hose started to break and crack, so we stuck one of those shorties on it untill we got a longer hose... Well on wednesday i went to go ride and my quad was bogging and poping like crazy, and it would eventually cut out.... I knew it was either a fuel or ignition problem... We diagnosed it and everything, but had no clue what the deal was. Well yesterday and today i had the intentions to go ride, but today my quad would not run worth chit... It would cut out, bog, etc.... I was stuck... We took it to my mechanic this evening around 4, and he got on it and rode it. It cut out on him and he wasn't quite to sure what the deal was. Well he went and took off the gas cap and it started right up. He didn't mention anything to us about that, but then all of a sudden my dad mentioned it and he was liek "that could easily be it". So we took it off, and i went and rode it, got all the way up his driveway and down his road, and the son of a bich cut off. I was pissed. Couldn't get it started or anything. Pushed it all the way back to his house(thankfully his drive way is downhill) and we put it back on the lift in his shop... Well what do you know, the gas was turned off. My mechanic said he just always turns it off when hes done riding it, so its just natural to him. So we go and turn it back on, and i go ride, and damn, its perfect. No bogging, no anything. Took it out for 10min and rode it hard, 5th gear wide open, and nothing, ran like a champ... So all in all, DONT BUY SHORTY GAS CAP HOSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for reading, lol

I had one and never had a problem.. Maybe the vent on the top is clogged?

I've had one on my quads since 2000, and no problem. I've replaced the hose when they crack.

yea idk why i have such bad luck with them, but im just going to stick with the regular longer hoses that go down near your stem. I haven't had a problem with that so i guess ill stick with that.

I've had three, and they all manged to fall off.

So now I have some sort of clear hose on mine just going down by the steering stem.

I ran one for a few hours, the thing would leak gas (like a little mist) while riding wheelies, I traided with the one on my wifes 250ex (ran fine on both, I just didnt want flamable nuts)

I somehow got water on in my hose on my 300, and it was below freezing out side. I took the 300 out to ride it, and it did the same thing. I prolly worked on it for a good 4 hours trying to figure it out till I saw that the hose was frozen.

Yeah ive had bad luck with them too. My quad decided not run about 5 min before my first moto at the Etown wpsa. Luckly I remembered having problems with the one on my 400. So I just run my stock hose.

So no one here has ever had the OEM suck water from washing your quad? The stem fills with water and that hose sticks in the stem... no run situation much like what you all are describing.

I've been running the RMATV $2.99 special vent for two years of motocross and not one problem with it. I had the same kind on my 400EX for even longer, and after I sold teh 400ex it went on my dads rancher and has never failed.

Nope never had that problem. Of course I always wash my quad on it's grab bar, so it's not gonna fill up anyway.

I prefer the longer hose.. Harder to drop your gascap into the Mud. ;)

Never had a problem, but i do know someone who broke his back from the shorty vent caps. Motor cut out on the face of a jump, quad died.
