There's no doubt about the Motor being top notch, but you better get on that list. Plus that 416 kit isn't cheap.

quadtrix, i'm not trying to make you mad or push anything on you but if you mx, you should definitely get shocks before motor work.

There's no doubt about it being an awesome motor. If you have the 3 grand for it, do it. TC and Sparks have the best 416 kits out I think. You could also look into the TC. He may be shorter then Sparks on the wait, and cheaper. But that Sparks will haul, if you have the money and want it, call Sparks asap.

those sparks 416's are bad, i've seen a few of them run...BUT i've also seen the PC2000 and many other powervalves run...and they put out a lot more power than the sparks 416. but that's the way it's gonna be with any AMA legal 400ex motor kit. I'm not sure about a 465 or even the 505ex like chad's got, that will pry be close...maybe.

god u can get a TC505 kit for that much money!!! his prices are rediculous!!!

I got most of that stuff done for my 425.
Port and flow head....$200
Piston Kit $120
Rev Box $80
TC Cam $200
Bore & Hone $45
TC Exhaust $325
Clutch kit $110
Basket $160
Gasket kit w/stainless head gasket $35
Labor......did myself
Carb $450

Total TC425 kit $1725
Sparks 416 kit $3240
Money u saved with TC $1515
Power differance, prob. not worth $1515
Go buy $1515 worth of suspension=faster then just an engine kit!
Thats the way i look at it!

have a good day!:D

I agree with Extreme!!!Thats nearly exactly what my 505 cost me!! Sparks is a lot higher and he takes a lot longer but we all know his motors haul!! But if it was me Id be calling TC!!! TC is about 6 months out, actually it may be less than that now, im not sure!!

I mean it just seems to make sense. If u want power, why not get a 60-70 hp monster for 3k instead of something that prob. doesnt even put out 40hp? But like i said, ide get some DECENT motor work done, and go buy some shocks and parts to help in handling. U dont have to have a beast under u to win races. Look at Greg Trew runs a 425 kit. And keeps up with Chad Duvall on a monster 500 kit! And we all know Chad is one of the most talented riders out there. So i think that sais alot for Mr. Trew also!!

Hmm yep Sparks aint cheap, but he aint slow either.
Heres what I have so far
FCR39-$450
Cam-$375
Cam Chain-$100
Valve Springs-$100
Piston-$189(way overpriced)
Clutch kit $139
Total $980

I have dragged full TC416s with this setup and won.
But I have a friend with a TC cam and Lectron carb thats built by Legacy and its pretty fast, he beats me alot. Im close to him but not close enough. But like someone said, motor aint everything, this guy that beats me everytime in the holeshot, I almost beat him the last time we race, I was all over him but just couldnt find room to pass. Read my sig, work on being a better rider untill u cant go no faster without mods.

When I get done I will have
X-6 $520
Porting-$300-400
Built by Legacy-$300 or so
