Who do you think it will be?
Im not talking about an immediate replacement when DG retires, im just saying...who do you think will be the next rider to "take his place"?
I think Joel Hetrick or Jason Connel, once they start racing the Pro ranks, will be damn near untouchable.
To me, Jeremiah Jones was and always will be the fastest man to ever ride a quad. He was so damn smooth...I loved to watch him ride. :(
Lets hear your opinions on who the next great MX'er will be.:D

I couldn't name 1 or 2
jeremy lawson
caleb moore
casey martin
mark kendall
josh upperman
the list goes on and on, If any 1 of these guys switched to pro class(...some of them have) they would be first or close second in any of the pro class races.

Upperman will step it up this year. As far as the next future big name, Shumaker is knocking on the door. He just needs to get a little more aggresive.... Also, a little ways down the road, if he sticks with it, Dallas Tapscott has got a good chance too..

Austin Wilson is really smooth and now he has his own track so i think he'll be really fast this year

connell will be the next jj...he is crazy fast and really smooth. In one of my youth 200/300 races he got so far ahead that he stopped 3 times to talk with his dad...

wow i cant believe how off base some of your guys predictions are!
First and furmost :
Chad Wienen is the fastest guy on a quad on a motorcross track as of right now. There is no doubt to this as anybody who has seen him ride in the past year. Despite two DNF's he still almost won the title.
Hetrick and Rastrelli show alot of speed, just hope they dont get burnt out on it before they get there chance.
And to the guy who said JJ was smooth is on crack.. He had his own style for sure. He deffinatly wasnt smooth compared to alot of other pro's, he was always 2wheeling in corners, he was just balls to the wall and he made it work!

connell deffineatly has what it takes to be one of the top pros. hes not only fast, but hes so smooth and consistant.

jj was fast as hell but not that smooth! wienen by far is the smoothest rider out thereand he's fast! he has a style all his own and no one can copy it! chad has the best work ethic of any pro! the kid flat out works his *** off! chad is gonna b here 4 a LONG time so get used to it!! but with the factories getting more involved it gives everyone more time to train. the next 5 yrs will tell u who will b here for awhile and who wont!
Chad is a hard worker and has earned everything that has come his way. After his suzuki contract is up it will be interesting to see where he ends up . He will be worth a couple of bucks in a few years if you know what i mean...and as stated earlier i too believe he will be around for a good long while, many championships in his future..

i think that while wienen right now is definitely the fastest of the smooth riders josh creamer is still smoother than he is but that is what seperates them. wienen is willing to hang it out a little more on the edge to gain the speed

i thought jeremiah was as smooth as it gets when he was on the two stroke but when he moved to the 4 strokes it just seems like he didn't adjust well. don't get me wrong i still think he was smooth but just not as smooth.
282ex
01-14-2008, 07:24 PM
when he was on the 2 stroke he was pretty smooth, but then when he got onto the fourstroke he didnt adjust well, and he would just go balls to the wall. In national born killers they say that doug is more like a technician while riding and he is smooth, but jeremiah is just balls to the wall, he may put down the fastest lap time, but h e cant make the machine last more than a race...

it will be interesting watching Holmes this season, and quite a few other riders. I dont have any that will fill the shoes of JJ or Gust, thats legend stuff and it takes more then riding and championships to reach that status!

As far as replacing doug or jj...or taking their spot, whatever...it wont happen. Each rider is their own..has their own style, it works for them and only them. Whoeever reaches the level doug and jj are on, will just be on that level with them...far from taking their spot though.

Cody Gibson reminds me a lot of JJ, crazy fast and on the edge. JJ was far from smooth he had a RC style, pin it and hold on. As for Gust I love how he gets faster at the end of each moto, I think Wimmer has a strong resemblance in riding style.

actually last year at the last jolly race jason raced pro-am and in practice he and josh were together the whole time but josh wasn't giving it to much effort, in the first moto jason wrecked his ltr in the holeshot and broke the rear shock and a couple other things so he took out one of josh's kawis in the second moto and he and vinny mofford got hooked up in the holeshot and were both wayyyyyy back but jason was defnitely moving. jason is fast but he isn't big enough to control a 450 the way he needs to if were stronger then it would be a whole different story but the way i see it now joel hetrick and cody gibson are gonna be the ones to beat when the time comes and maybe eventually people will start hearing about ralle rookey because hes made a big splash in his jump from a 300 to the a class, he took second over all in i think 4 stroke A at the unadilla race, won the first moto by 9 seconds.
