The mods continue. Yes, the outlaw has seen 1/2 mile but the weather sucks here so I am just getting everything done now.

Looking at ordering the ehs conversion. Have the K N filter, jd jet kit, and the hmf on the way.

Does anyone else use the ehs kit and has it been worth it? I am leaning towards it do to the crap we run in, mud, creek crossing, marsh crossings, etc vs just leaving the lid off.

Any cons. Thanks...

I just made my own. Cost about $5.00

Here's another pic. Their's screen mesh to hold some of the water and dirt out and let the air in. Seems to work good so far.

SO far, I would say yes, it is worth it! Less cleaning of the filter and less chance of sucking something in the intake! For keeping the inside of the engine clean and running well, I think $80 is worth it. I bought the entire lid from them so that I have my stocker still intact, just in case...

Do you have to jet it? I am still debating on whether or not to put on a Pure Polaris Exhaust or not so seeing as how I don't have one yet and my wife is already freaking out about how much I spend on these things I think I could slide 80 bucks by her, she is not ready for the 800 for the exhast yet!

So willb do you still want me to order up the EHS lid for you today? I kinda like what Trent_G did to his for $5.00 :eek2: I also think the pics eehard09 post look very nice, I'm just not sure it's worth $75.00 more dollars than Trents $5.00 mod. If they perform the same function and it's hidden under the seat I would just use the extra $75.00 as a dontation to the "Build Bubba an XC KFX450R" fund :D that would pay for a RAZR2 front tire.

Yes if you ride in very muddy conditions

Organic, if you have not rejetted from the stock jetting as it is, you need to rejet regardless if you are adding a lid like thi sor not. JD Jetting is the way to go. His kit will really open up the potential of the Outlaw! And, for the EHS lid, you rejet like it is runnin no lid at all.

Also, don't waste the money on the Pure Polaris dual slip on, it only looks cool and definitely does not out perform the other slip-ons out there. You can have a powdercoated HMF for $227 shipped off of e-bay and it will do just as well or better!Save the $600 for something else! I was just just using HMF as an example because they are the least expensive pipe out there that I have found.... Here is what my HMF looks like (the Vector endcap was extra).

Thanks everyone I am going with it.

EERHARD, what is that cover over the front inlet of your intake. Did that come with the kit??

Yes, that is just more Outerwares material with an elastic band sewn in so that it stays on the snorkle. It did come with the fully assembled kit and would assume it would come with the Do-it-yourself kit as well.

Thanks Eerhard, That is what I assumed. Didnt make sense to put an outerwear on the lid and leave 4 x 3 hole in the front.

Picked up a used HMF off of ebay for 76 bucks. Guy that sold must have read the recent ATV Sport and went out and bought the CT racing full system.

At 75 bucks I can repack and add a nice end cap and still be below half price.

Save a few $$ and get one from SSJEFF over on predatorowners.com. He makes one for $65 that's bigger than the EHS one.
