ok I see the advantage of +2 width but whats the reason for +1, I know it moves the wheels ahead 1 inch but for woods racing is this something a 57 year old novices needs??? thanks Mild Bill

The +1 forward screws up everything and makes the 400ex handle worse. Most +1 foward a-arm are accomodated by a +1 swing arm to rebalance the weight and such. Magazines did test with +1 forward a-arms and they said the only quad that took advantage of them was a banshee and all the rest it made handling worse than stock.

If I understand it correctly, the +1 makes the quad more stable at high speeds because the turning isn't as precise. The bike isn't as likely to dart out from underneath you at high speeds, but it also isn't as responsive when wanting to steer quickly.

I have a 400ex with +2+1 arms and I think the handling is great! I haven't ridden a +2+0 400, but my setup is on par with the stock 450r I had. JMO
