View Full Version : Time to retire the blaster...

Well after many years of sticking with the blaster on my racing and freestyle career its finally time to let this thing have a little easier life than jumping 60ft (25ft high) off ramps. Its trippled over 450's on the track, and flown higher and more times than probably any blaster(and most quads for that matter) out there. Its not just a machine its my, and the people around me's work of art. Nothing was done by anyone but myself and my closest friends.. and of course my dad.

This quad is not just a freestyle/race quad even though it may look it. I have been on MANY long trail rides and most of its ride time is woods.. and lately desert riding. Its been in some of the biggest woods in the country and some of the biggest dunes. Went two years without a rebuild; surviving 2 fully pinned glamis weekends, 4 races, countless trail rides, and even more jumping/track. When it finally just started fouling plugs due to low compression i pulled it apart and was bearly able to get the rings out because they were EXACTLY the same size as the piston. Not bad for a motor build completly my me and my dad, and jetted to perfection.

Soon it will be fully restored to as perfect condition as possible, for working and going to school full time.. and trying to push my limits every weekend have taken a toll on it. Here are some pics of it throughout the years. Keep in mind this started as a beat up 450$ stock purple machine.

LOL, I still remember that name and that bike from BHQ, youve had that thing for a long time. But rest assured that you'll like the 250R a lot better once you get into it and used to it. Rs kinda feel like a slightly bigger version of a modded blaster, I retired my Blaster a few years back and it now belongs to my 12 year old daughter.

Nice R, but I cant stand the fact that your tearing apart a stock R...

Please put it back to stock when you retire it?

I would kill to have a nice stock R in my garage...:(

thanks for the compliments guys... glad to see some of you still around! and yeah.. the story was a little touching. haha... but its been a long road with that thing.

I cant believe im tearing into it either.. i really hate to do it... thing was BONE stock in damn good condition. In the end im sure it'l be an amazing R. im into doing stuff just a bit different than the rest and so far thats turned out great. and yes... i'll promise. haha.

*Tear*

I still remember the day you brought that thing home and the countless number of hours spent fixing that thing in the early years. You sure know how to push that thing to it's limits. It's amazing it lasted this long with the way you ride! Haha:blah: .

It's about time you finally stepped up to a larger machine and I can't wait to see what you have in store for the R and what you're capable of doing on it. I think I'm just as excited as you are!
