Hey i have a 400ex and i am looking into getting some tires for the sand. First i have seen back tires with 8-12 paddles. what is the benefits of each. also for the back should i get tires with a straight across or v-shaped paddle and whats the difference? thanx in advance

The straight paddles are better for straight forward traction. The v-shaped paddles turn better than the straight paddles. Both hook up awesome though.:cool:

I have the straight paddles and I have rode others with the V shape. If you get he V shaped ones, you will need to get the some fronts with some sort of a rib down the center. Either mohawks or dune tracker. I like the staight paddles because we are usually running up a dune for jumping. Either one will work for ya...
NO! If you get straight paddles you might have to get a ribbed or constant rid down the center of the front tire. Like a Mohawk or Razorback. I have Sand Sharks for the back and I like them except for their very heavy weight. They are durable though.

whats the advantage of
- the 8-10 paddels- ???
8 paddle are more for 4-strokes and stock machines that don't have a ton of horsepower.

yeah if your machine is stock or lightly modified go with 8 paddles or if it is more modified go with 10
