My favorite is the 03 GMC Sierra I've got now, but I've owned a couple of Mazdas that were great trucks, too. Still got one of em...

They are very strong. Lots of power waiting to be released with a good quality exhaust system, intake, and maybe some nitrous:devil:

Ive always loved my old s-10's, i've had 6, an '82, '85, '87, '88, '91, and '92. The one im driving now has 337,000 miles on it, original engine. I have a '04 silverado LT fully loaded also, stupid little things are always going wrong, but the stupid little things are EXPENSIVE TO FIX. The lights in the dash burned out, only thing is they are LED's soldered into circuit boards. My cd player quit playing cds at 30k miles, that was covered under warranty. The power seat motor clonked out a little before that, was also covered. The engine runs great though, lots or power and torque, I pulled a trailer with 4 quads on it with no problem up and down mountains.

We had a 2004 Chevy Silverado and it was absolute trash, steering was loose, handled like garbage, brakes were destroyed in a year, and it was pretty gutless before we sold it.

Just bought a 2008 GMC Sierra and even though they are the same as the Chevy pretty much, it's 100x better. Handles and rides like a dream, rides so good I find myself doing 50km/h or so over the limit without even noticing. The new engine is really fast revving and has tons of power and it's only the 5.7 liter model. Love this truck to death!

Believe it or not I have a 2003 Dodge 1500 Quad Cab with a 3.7 litre V6! I have installed a cold air intake system with a K&N style air filter and a Gibson Super Truck Exhaust System. Believe it or not it has enough power to haul my 400EX, 250EX and pull an 18 foot travel trailer! Here is the great thing about it....24 mpg at 65 MPH on flat ground unloaded. This is my commuter vehicle as I drive 50 miles round trip to work every day. 73,000 miles and absolutely no trouble at all!

I Would have liked to have had a V8 but with a manual 5 speed tranny I can wind the motor out to about 4 grand and it has plenty of power. Can't beat the gas mileage either!

Dodge makes a good quality truck. You can get one with a lifetime power train warranty.

So far I've owned...
early 80's chevy truck 305ci 2wd
94 s-10 blazer 4.3 4x4
04 colorado 4 cyl. 2wd
05 colorado 4 cyl. 2wd
98 dodge dakota 5.2L v8 4x4

So far the best has been my 98 dakota. It has a cold air intake and gibson cat back exhaust and run and drives better than any truck I've owned. She has 150K miles and hasn't had too many troubles. I absolutely love the way it handles for a 4x4 and it's fairly quick for a truck with a small v8 with tons of low end pulling power. The worst trucks were the colorado's. I had more troubles in the short time I owned them than any other vehicle I've had...which is why I filed lemon law on the last one and got the full purchase price refunded by GM.

the loose steering was probably the steering output shaft, everyone does it, im guessing it was a 4.8L? Im also guessing the rotors came apart, that is covered under warranty up to 50k miles I think. Mine did all of these, but I have the 5.3, hauls balls.

I've had both an S10 and a Ranger. Both are great little trucks. The 4.0 in the ranger doesn't do bad power wise and isn't too hard on gas. Right now I have a gen I ranger with a 2.9. She doesn't like the 35's with 4.10's.

fullsize I'd have to say 97 f150 was the best overall truck I've owned. Never had any problems with it besides a dead battery and the lumbar thing in the seat breaking. Other than that, best truck I've every owned.

That 4/8 cylinder fuel management is pretty sweet, you won't notice it just driving but if you pay attention you can tell when it switches between the two.

Haven't noticed much difference in gas mileage.. but it's not on the highway much.

2006 chevy Silverado....bought it with 6,000 miles, put a toneau cover on the bed and dual exhaust... special model came with the 20's and chrome door handles....heres a pic of her. (couldn't find a pic of it without one of our trailers hooked up to it)
