450r shocks on 400ex

I know there is a little grinding that needs to be done, to make them fit up.
What I want to know is , whether its worth it? Is the ride that much better, or is it just because the shocks are fully adjustable that makes them better?
Whats the usual price on a set of front 450r shocks, still in good condition? I have an 04 400ex...which years of 450r shocks work..all of them?

from what i hear they are an improvement over stock but are still way to stiff and "tippy" unless you get them revalved. but at any rate, an improvement. a good set normally goes around 200-250, but you can find better deals if your lucky.
