So ive installed a wiseco 11:1 piston in my 2000 400ex and have a hot cam stage 1 to put in but im wondering about the piston to valve clearance. the only way i've seen to check it is by putting it all together with a piece of clay on the top of the piston. Anybody know whats up here? thanks

the quad also has a white brothers rev box and white brothers e series exhaust kit and is jetted for the summer i think, all this was on it when i bought it.

You shouldn't have anything to worry about unless the head or cylinder have been milled significantly.

Ok. the papers that come with the hot cam say if u have a higher compression piston u have to check the piston to valve clearance but we didnt think itd be a problem either. thanks

Yeah you would have to do something pretty dumb to mess that up...

Once its all together, just turn the motor over by hand a couple revolutions to make sure it isn't "binding" then you should be fine. You can clay it up if you want, but probably wasting your time with that piston and cam.
